Doing the Limbo

Monday, December 12th, 2011

I was speaking yesterday with the owner of Cash Flow Heaven, Peter Schultz, and we continued with a half-joking thread of conversation that we have been having for almost a year since Dotcomjungle first started working with them.  The thread was about the low-quality of service, support, and finished product provided by most web developers, both inside of  the Rogue Valley and out. For their part, CFH has worked with numerous web developers all over the country and never received the service and support they needed to avoid numerous, obvious-in-hindsight, technical issues – ALL of them caused by web site technicians who either could not see the big picture, didn’t understand the limitations of the software they were implementing, or sadly, both. DCJ New & Improved!

Monday, November 14th, 2011

A month ago, Dotcomjungle brought two brand new interns on staff. They are not only exceptional learners and practitioners in the web design and development profession, they are damned fine human beings. They are both open-hearted, imaginative, inquisitive, saucy, confident, careful – but not afraid and truly nice without being sticky sweet. We like ‘em, and want to brag about how cool Jamie Sndhurst and Julian Sherr really are.

geos Client Profile: Geos Institute

Who Is Geos Institute? The Geos Institute is a nonprofit organization and consulting firm that uses science to help people predict, reduce, and prepare for climate change.  To this end, the Geos Institute brings the best available science to community and natural resource planning processes, through its publications, community workshops, and bridge building between respected scientists and decision makers.

Challenges: Their information-rich science and research team wanted a web site where they could truly display their content in an organized fashion and be able to update it regularly. Previously know as The National Center for Science, Conservation and Policy, they were going through a rebranding process as they were developing their web site and asked Dotcomjungle to join the process for our keen insights into how this important decision would affect their web site and how it was organized and designed.

ephemera Client Profile: www.ephemera inc.com

Who Is Ephemera, Inc? Ephemera is a wonderful, quirky business specializing in crass bumper stickers, refrigerator magnets and lapel pin buttons. A group of very funny people run this gin joint, and you would never know from the outside that they are one of the largest wholesalers of silly quotes in the United States, delivering their products all over the country on a daily basis.

Challenges: When Ephemera came to Dotcomjungle, by their own assessment their web site was outdated visually and under performing technically. They needed retail as well as wholesale opportunities on the web site. And they wanted to increase their web presence on Google to generate new sales, as well as simplify the sales process for existing customers.

Ayurveda-Herbs

Monday, July 18th, 2011

A key phrase in the Dotcomjungle mission statement is that we “seek out companies that inspire us.” Who fits that criteria? Folks who aren’t afraid to take action and who jump into new endeavors with a passion to learn; Bootstrappers who are willing to teach themselves what they need to know along the way to make their businesses succeed. In other words, we like clients who can dream big, get a little messy, play hard and keep on keeping on.

One DCJ client who fits this description is Lavanya Kruger, owner of the fantastic new web site www.ayurveda-herbs.com.  Not only were we inspired to be a part of her journey as we collaborated to create a brand new web site that has a look and feel that truly fits with the Ayurveda-Herbs’ purpose, we’ve also appreciated Lavanya’s eagerness to learn how to confidently operate and be the queen of her online business!
